Chronicles from a Catalan Dolphin

This blog is about the crazyness-turned-laughing about living in USA and surviving to it.
Hey, better laugh about than cry about, right?

I write from Ohio, where I am doing my Ph.D. at Kent State University. Tough science, rough parties and global roomates...

Com de costum, viva la pepa in New york...This time the visit was more about pleasure and slacking than anything else...No museums, no broadways...Just disco, party and....chess.
Times Square was the ultimate mess as usual...And amazingly, I found two catalans from a town north of Barcelona (sorry, I don't remember what town they told me, Sant Vicents dels Horts o Leilla por ahi. It was amazing because even without speaking I could tell they were catalans...Absolutely wordless to express that extrasensorial perception...eerie, eerie

Get this piece of advise: avoid the chess huslters in Washington Square Park. I lost $15 but I saved my honor with a 15-mintue moneyless game. I crushed him and I checkmated him just with 4 seconds left...WOw!! What a rushhhh!! yeahh baby. Pim thought I was going to spark a fight when I yelled at him "now, you are BBQ material, pal".

The guy was an absolute machine..he moved the pieces like a friking bolt!

What you think? Is $7 too much for those sunglasses?
